March 22 – April 3

Preparing to move the 5er to Lancaster

In preparation for putting the house up for sale and leaving, we needed to move the 5er out of the driveway to have a pod delivered.  The pod was to house the few belongings and furnishing that we wanted to keep for the future.  Old man winter just would not give up and the day we needed to de-winterize and prep to leave, we got about a foot of snow.

Jeff was up on the roof clearing the snow so we could close the slide-outs after draining the anti-freeze from the systems.

Snow March 22 Preparing to Leave Collegeville

We must have shoveled the driveway 10 times that day so we could finish preparations.  Pulled her out the afternoon of the 22nd and headed to Lancaster for 11 days.  During that time, we filled the pod, finished clearing the house, filled two bagsters and a JunkLuggers truck.  We did get one day where it was warm enough and we were able to stop work at the house early to barbecue in Lancaster and enjoy a fire that evening.

Said ‘Good-Bye’ to the house on April 1st and now have truly begun our adventures.

Farewell to my house April 1

On Monday, April 2nd, we woke up to another snow storm.  Luckily this time it was only 4-5 inches.  Poor Jeff, had to clear the roof again so we could be on our way.

After about a five hour ride, made it to Ashville Virginia, where we caught up on some much needed rest!  Next we are on to Lumberton, North Carolina.

    1. Hey lady – we are in Lancaster and hope you are doing good. Maybe we can set up a date to do the dogs? Let me know if you would like to meet at a campground somewhere. We are in Country Acres in Lancaster and next week heading to Pine Hill in Kutztown before we go to Harrisburg on he 20th.
